Mont Tremblant in Quebec is most famously known for having one of the best mountains in Canada for winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding. However, over the past decade or so Mt. Tremblant has grown into a 365 day tourist hotspot with plenty of activities for the family during both the winter and summer months. We’re going to go through a little bit of information which will guide you through deciding whether or not Tremblant is the next vacation spot for you now.

Arriving

Whether you’re driving or flying Tremblant is one of the most accessible areas to reach as it’s in a central location to most of Canada. The Trudeau International Airport is only about an hour and a half drive away from Tremblant and anyone in the world can access this airport. If you are flying then you’ll be able to rent a car or truck from the airport so that you can drive out to Tremblant.

Winter Activities

Tremblant is most busy during the winter months and this is because of the World Class skiing and snowboarding experience you can enjoy here. There are almost 100 runs at Tremblant with 13 operational lifts. You will also be able to enjoy acres upon acres of the best rails, ramps, halfpipes and a superpipe. Some of the other activities that you can enjoy while in Tremblant during the winter include snowshoeing, skating, curling, cross country skiing, ice climbing, dogsledding, horseback riding, sleigh rides, helicopter tours, tubing, snowmobiling, paintball and many other fun things for the family.

Summer Activities

As I mentioned earlier Tremblant has grown into quite the summer tourist spot over the years and this is because of the unlimited list of activities for families. Some of the activities you’ll be able to enjoy with your family include a gondola ride, Waterpark, tennis, golf, mini-golf, luge, bicycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, rafting, bungee trampoline, paintball, hiking, climbing, fishing, bird show, boat cruises, ATV rides, helicopter tours and so much more.

Adult Activities

After a day in the snow or in the sun depending on when you visit Tremblant most parents will want a little time to themselves so that they can unwind. Tremblant offers several great activities for adults including a great nightlife atmosphere with several busy clubs and a casino. Casino de Mont Tremblant was recently built and it allows adults to have some fun trying to win some money. You can reach the casino through a bus shuttle or a gondola ride.

Accommodations & Dining

Tremblant isn’t a small area by any means and you will have a wide array of options when it comes to where you want to stay and eat. With tons of hotels, motels and resorts in Tremblant you can have your pick at anything you want so that it meets your budget. I would advise visiting the Official Tremblant website if you’re planning a trip because they have lots of deals and packages for families. You should be able to plan your entire vacation on the website while keeping costs to a minimum.

One of the most popular Canadian family amusement parks is Canada’s Wonderland which is located in Toronto, Ontario. The good thing about Wonderland is that there are attractions and rides for everyone in the family. There are certain ride requirements that need to be met, but you can view a full list of those on the Wonderland website. If you have never been to Wonderland before and you don’t know what to expect on your arrival, you should continue reading through our helpful planner.

Arriving

When you first arrive to Wonderland you will need to find a parking spot which isn’t a problem because the lot is huge, but it you don’t want to walk too far then you need to make it to the amusement park in the morning. If you don’t have admission tickets to the park yet then you will need to purchase them at the front gate. I recommend buying your admission tickets online at the Wonderland website though, since they offer discounts for making a purchase online.

Rides

The amusement park is split up into little areas which are designated for certain age groups. When you arrive to the park make sure you grab a map so you can find out where everything is located. Some of the areas of the park consist of KidZville, Hannah-Barbera Land and Splash Works. There are plenty of large roller coasters for the enthusiasts including Top Gun, The Bat and The Dragon. Another one of the most thrilling rides in the park is Drop Zone which is a ride where you’re elevated straight up into the air and then released at a rapid speed down to the ground. There is over 100 acres of rides in the park which everyone can enjoy including such rides as spinning buckets, bumper cars, behemoth, Minebuster and many others. Wonderland also has a 20+ acre Waterpark which is full of both small and big waterslides so that the entire family can enjoy the area. There is also a massive wave pool which is really fun for the older children and adults. When it’s time to relax for an hour or two you can take in one of the many live shows which include gymnastics, diving and live entertainment.

Dining

Since you’re most likely going to spend the entire day and night at Wonderland you and the family are going to need to eat. The locations in Wonderland are rather expensive so if this is an issue you will want to leave the park and go across the street. There are several restaurants and fast food restaurants across the street from the park which you can too. If you eat in the park some of your options include Pizza Pizza, Mr. Sub, Manchu Wok, The Marketplace, International Buffet, Diary Queen and a lot more.

Accommodations

Wonderland doesn’t have any hotels on site which is a shame because a lot of the people who visit the amusement park are tourists. They understand that a lot of their visitors are tourists though, and you’ll be able to receive hotel vouchers from numerous hotels in the area. You will need to just present your Wonderland day passes at the hotel you choose on arrival. There are well over a dozen hotels where you can stay that have connections with Wonderland and you can view all of the options on the Wonderland website.

If your family vacation takes you to the Toronto area this summer, consider booking a day (or two) at Canada’s Wonderland.

For many individuals, a steam sauna might be a luxury that can only be enjoyed occasionally. Especially since it is very expensive to install one, people normally go to health spas and clubs, in order to take in the pleasures of a steam filled sauna. Even though home saunas are becoming more and more common, it still remains to be commonly found in the average household.

However, over the past few years, there has been a growing demand for saunas to be available to people, right from the comfort of their own homes. This is why there has been an increased popularity among individuals, for infrared saunas. If you ask around, you can be pretty sure you will find someone who has an infrared sauna at home.

Saunas are popular mainly because they give you a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation, especially to a tired body. Most saunas operate by generating steam, which at a high temperature, opens up the pores of your body, which results in you feeling relaxed and at ease. The steam also helps to relieve tension from your body, giving you the sense of rejuvenation.

Today, there are more people getting interested in infrared saunas than every before. In the same way traditional steam saunas do, these infrared saunas generate heat through the use of electromagnetic rays. These rays increase the temperate of the air, thereby heating up your body and leaving it feel relaxed, in the same way a steam sauna does.

Through the use of the infrared sauna, you will also begin to experience some health benefits. The most commonly experience health benefit, is weight loss. Because being in a sauna forces your body to sweat, due to the warm temperatures surround your body, you immediately begin to perspire. Through perspiration, the body then begins to lose water, which contributes to a large part of your body’s weight. Also, your body has to work hard in order to produce perspiration, which in turn also helps your to lose weight.

Using the sauna also helps detoxify your body. This is largely a result of the interaction between the high temperature of the sauna, and your skin. The infrared sauna, which works at both the skin and cell level, helps to rid your body of the toxic matter that might be caught in your pores.

The detoxification effect that an infrared sauna has on your body, is extremely beneficial to you, as it gets rid of toxins such as nicotine and cholesterol from your body. Some people, who have used the infrared sauna for a prolonged period of time, have testified that they experienced relief from common pains, especially arthritis.

With these benefits, you can be sure that there will only be a growing popularity among people, for infrared saunas. However, you should always remember to seek advice from your family doctor, before planning for any prolonged usage.

If there were one necessary step to take to ensure the future of ecotourism it would be making solid plans that will take the industry in the proper direction. As more people forego holiday trips to traditional luxury resorts in favor of helping to protect natural resources it will be critical that ecotourism is guided gently along the correct path.

This field is less than three decades old and is still in its infancy compared to many other economic areas. The concept of ecotourism has at its core the need to conserve resources and protect fragile cultures even as we travel to remote locations to experience those very things. Some of the travel activity loosely labelled as ecotourism in the past has actually caused damage to the environment and exploited resources instead of preserving them. Air transportation, for example, contributes to the greenhouse effect and the use of this travel method is growing because ecotourism destinations are generally in remote regions of the globe.

While the basic idea of ecotourism has great potential, the ideals stated and written during the Global Ecotourism Conference in Oslo (2007) have hardly been reached. In fact, the negative impacts of tourism discussed in Oslo continue in ecotourism as well as in mass tourism. As ecotourism gains popularity, growing three times faster than the tourism industry as a whole, areas of concern remain. This rapid growth and the increased air traffic necessary to sustain the industry contribute significantly to the greenhouse effect. Unfortunately, this is exactly the type of natural/social issue ecotourism is meant to eliminate.

Some businesses are making an effort to eliminate the travel emissions problem. For example, Nature Air, based in Costa Rica, claims that it is, overall, a zero emitter of carbon dioxide since the emissions of its vehicles are balanced by reforestation projects in the Central American country. Ecotourism can also have negative effects on national parks and other sightseeing destinations on small islands and countries that become desirable ecotourism destinations.

This attraction may not change, as more people desire to be part of the environmentally friendly exploration that is part of ecotourism. Conference attendees in Oslo crafted a statement addressing this issue, noting that there is a need for responsible travel – methods and travel plans that conserve resources as much as possible and keep the welfare of indigenous populations at the top of the priority list.

Some may be discouraged by the effects that long-distance travel has on ecotourism, knowing that the necessary methods of getting to remote locations may actually be causing more harm. But if the ecotourism destinations are left out of the growing industry, the local populations will not realize economic benefit and the natural resources of the location won’t be part of a worldwide preservation movement. No tourism at all can have a negative impact, as would mass tourism that may move in to occupy the industry niche left by retreating ecotourism supporters. This is true across the world from Benidorm or Zelianople.

Certainly, ecotourism can be the instrument of its own demise, especially if the guidelines and projects are not carefully thought out. There is much to be done to make sure that proper solutions are applied to the damage issues created by the increasing popularity of ecotourism.
